Getting Acquainted

Twenty seven percent (27%) of New York State adults surveyed count themselves among Unaffiliated (Religious “nones”)1—approximately 4.3 million New Yorkers.

We are freethinkers—people who form opinions independent of tradition, authority or established belief, in favor of rational inquiry. Participants of Upstate New York Freethinkers variously self-identify as religion-free, non-theists, agnostics, atheists, humanists, skeptics, “nones”, and other labels of personal choosing. We are secular-minded people, in search of knowledge and connection, who come from all walks of life.

Upstate New York Freethinkers, a chapter of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Inc. was formed to bring people together and stop religious violations in New York State. Our Chapter is organized entirely by volunteers who are freethinkers like you.

The corporation is formed for the charitable purposes of promoting the constitutional principle of separation of state and church and of educating the public on matters relating to nontheism.
